by the way, you can softlock yourself by going right to the first dungeons boss door, so having already activated the previous switch.
then go back and leave the room.
return to the room and BAMM you are softlocked.
since, for whatever reason, the statue and the stone block reset to their start positions, but the switch is already pressed, so you cant make it move the stone away again. and without that you cant reach the boss door.

rip run, gladly I hadnt played it too far yet.
boss was too annoying anyways since it had too much health.
like basically everthing in thsi game (normal enemies take 10 hits to die?)

replayed the game, avoiding that trap there.
now I cant get backto the capital to visit the library.
same room, this time the statue isnt there, so the puzzle is solved.

however one cant push the block all the way to the top, it stops right before the horizontal opath that the statue would travel along!

so soft locked again.

I definitely wont be replaying THAT!

Maybe it's jsut me. but this game is kind of hard, isnt it?
like it takes me quite a while to beat the first dungeon boss.
compared to zelda games, where the boss only takes like 5-6 hits to defeat, these are long fights!

Yeah, I wanted it closer to SMT in terms of boss length. The final boss is a doosy, but I think the last dungeon boss is scaled very poorly. It was my first action adventure RPG, so I've still a lot to learn.

If you find that you started the game in the room where you get the sword and you're stuck, just know that you can start a new game on the title screen by scrolling left and right.  The game defaults to Continue if a save file is present.

Optional Sword Movement Patch uploaded.  This'll let you attack in place if the forced movement is an issue for you.
